Basketball Recap: Columbus International Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Columbus International extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Leila Carter. The Columbus International Lions were the clear victor by a 79-57 margin over the Beechcroft Cougars on Wednesday thanks in part to Carter, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 25 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Columbus International's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Benson, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points along with seven steals and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played.

Columbus International's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Beechcroft, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Columbus International has already played their next contest, a 49-48 victory against Whetstone on the 10th. As for Beechcroft, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-37 win against Northland on the 10th.
