Recap: SkyView Academy Hawks vs. Denver Waldorf Spartans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Windsor Charter Academy, the SkyView Academy Hawks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They really took it to Denver Waldorf for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-14 victory at home. With SkyView Academy ahead 38-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leading SkyView Academy to victory were Maggie Barrett and Lydia Slocum. Barrett dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals, while Slocum dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barrett has scored all season. Reagan Martin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
SkyView Academy pushed their record up to 7-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Denver Waldorf, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing KIPP Denver Collegiate the next time they take the court. Denver Waldorf will host KIPP Denver Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while SkyView Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
