Volleyball Game Preview: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Cedar Catholic Trojans

The Wayne Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Cedar Catholic Trojans on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Wayne came up short against Norfolk Catholic and fell 2-0. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Wayne was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Cedar Catholic also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Pierce by a score of 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 25-20.

Cedar Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Wayne couldn't quite get it done against Cedar Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Thankfully for the Blue Devils, Bailey Hochstein (who had 22 digs and two assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
