Baseball Game Preview: La Porte Slicers vs. Chesterton Trojans

For the second straight game, La Porte will face off against Chesterton. The Slicers will face off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

La Porte played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Chesterton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Slicers.

Cody Ryden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chad Rusboldt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Raymond, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Chesterton's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for La Porte, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
