Baseball Recap: Barbourville Comes Up Short

Barbourville extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 14-9 in the process. They lost 14-1 to the Danville Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in March.

As for Danville, their record is now 20-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

For Danville's part, Ethan Burchett tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Fox Spears was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Gale, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Danville beat Barbourville by a score of 10-3 later that day.
