Softball Game Preview: Independence Knights vs. Frisco Raccoons

The Independence Knights will face off against the Frisco Raccoons at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Independence has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Frisco will arrive with three straight victories.

Independence came up short against Liberty on Friday, falling 7-1.

Stormy DANIEL was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frisco). They blew past Heritage 14-2 on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Raccoons with their most commanding win of the season.

Frisco got a massive performance out of Leila Hathaway, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Hathaway has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bailee Hodnett, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Frisco, their win bumped their record up to 5-9-1.
