Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Newman International Academy entered their contest against ILTexas Arlington on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Newman International Academy Warriors took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the ILTexas Arlington Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-27 back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Newman International Academy lost, don't look at Arianna Miranda. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 15 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Miranda is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Morgan Brook was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Newman International Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12. As for ILTexas Arlington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Newman International Academy has already played their next matchup (against UME Preparatory Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. ILTexas Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
