Soccer Game Preview: Northglenn vs. Boulder

The Northglenn Norsemen will square off against the Boulder Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northglenn has given up an average of 3.3 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northglenn fell victim to Prairie View and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Thunderhawks, falling 7-0. Northglenn haven't had much luck with Prairie View recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder). Their defense stepped up to hand Mountain Range an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what Boulder needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Their offense was hitting Mountain Range from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Zoe Silver led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Boulder's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six games. As for Northglenn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
