Softball Game Preview: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Columbus East Olympians

The Jeffersonville Red Devils will square off against the Columbus East Olympians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Jeffersonville and four for Columbus East.

Jeffersonville fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against New Albany on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 15-12 to the Bulldogs. On the bright side, the 12- run effort marked the Red Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.

Abigail Perissi and Kenzie Myers stepped up to the plate in a big way. Perissi went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Myers went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That triple was Perissi's first of the season. Andrea Campbell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Columbus East suffered their biggest loss since April 21st on Thursday. They came up short against Avon, falling 14-3.

Jeffersonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Columbus East, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Jeffersonville might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from Columbus East in their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
