Baseball Recap: Clever Comes Up Short

Clever and Fair Grove squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Clever had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-5. The Blue Jays have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Landon Flood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Graaf, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Clever's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Fair Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.

Clever does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fair Grove, they will host Portageville at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are on an 18-game streak of home wins, the Bulldogs a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
