Softball Recap: Camp Hill Takes a Loss

Camp Hill extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-12 in the process. They came up short against the Middletown Blue Raiders, falling 16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Lindsay Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Middletown, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They haven't had any issues with Camp Hill recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

On Middletown's side, Kenadee Hileman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Hileman has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Journee Stover, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan O'Brien, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

Looking ahead, Camp Hill will venture away from home to face off against York Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Irish have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. Middletown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
