Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Gainesville Red Elephants
Pinson Valley's last matchup with Gainesville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Saturday. The Indians lost 56-36 to the Red Elephants. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 30th in Alabama, while the Red Elephants are ranked first in Georgia).
Despite the defeat, Pinson Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Taylen 'Tay' Johnson went 6-for-15 en route to 19 points. Jalen 'JP' Pritchett was another key player, putting up nine points.
