Basketball Game Preview: Holy Cross Indians vs. Beechwood Tigers

The Holy Cross Indians will take on the Beechwood Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Holy Cross' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Holy Cross is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Covington Catholic, falling 78-55. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Colonels are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beechwood). They claimed a resounding 81-47 victory over Mason County. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Beechwood is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
