Baseball Game Preview: Crestwood Knights vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets

The Crestwood Knights will head out to challenge the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crestwood is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Crestwood came up short against Lower Richland and fell 13-9.

For Lower Richland's part, Ronyal Watson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only one hit. Watson was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those runs were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Lower Richland let Romari Randle and Kayden Sumpter run wild. Randle scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances, while Sumpter scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Sumpter a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Robinson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases.

Crestwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lower Richland, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.
