Volleyball Recap: Goddard Lions vs. Haysville Campus Colts
Goddard was the 2-0 winner over Haysville Campus when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Goddard Lions fell just short of the Haysville Campus Colts by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Goddard sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 25-18.
Emerson Wedel paced Goddard's offense, picking up 11 kills. Wedel got some help from
Madelyn Wilson and her 12 assists.
Micah Gillespie controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Haysville Campus was led to victory by Mariah Wille and Emmi Schrag. Wille had 12 digs, while Schrag had five digs and 12 assists.
Goddard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-19. As for Haysville Campus, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-23.
