Baseball Recap: James River Takes a Loss

James River lost against Alleghany back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered against the Cougars since May 28, 2022.

James River has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Alleghany, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James River will face off against Carroll County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alleghany, they will challenge Radford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are on a three-game streak of home losses, and the Bobcats a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.
