Basketball Game Preview: Hauser Jets vs. Oldenburg Academy Twisters

The Hauser Jets will face off against the Oldenburg Academy Twisters at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Oldenburg Academy will be up against a hot Hauser squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Hauser breezed by Rising Sun to the tune of 60-21 on Saturday. Given the Jets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Shiners are ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hauser got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Collin Buck out in front who went 7 of 9 en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Buck a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Stryker Gill, who posted eight points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Hauser smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oldenburg Academy didn't have too much trouble with Trinity Lutheran on Friday as they won 56-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Twisters.

Oldenburg Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Hauser, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Hauser came out on top in a nail-biter against Oldenburg Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 60-58. Will Hauser repeat their success, or does Oldenburg Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
