Baseball Recap: Dixon Wins Going Away Against White Oak

Dixon won the last time they faced White Oak and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Vikings 11-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Grady Barnes tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dixon is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Nick Lacugna was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Seth Vincent, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Dixon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Dixon back to even at 11-11. As for White Oak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Dixon has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Croatan on the 2nd. As for White Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Richlands on the 1st.
