Baseball Recap: Sandy Spring Friends Victorious

Sandy Spring Friends won the last time they faced Field and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests walked away with a 4-1 win over the Field Falcons.

Jack Fones and Noah Gross made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Fones tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Gross didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Fones scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Gross scored a run while going 2-for-3. Gross also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Edelman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Sandy Spring Friends' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Field, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
