Softball Recap: DePaul Catholic Comes Up Short

Immaculate Heart Academy hit DePaul Catholic with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 11-1 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

DePaul Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Immaculate Heart Academy, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. DePaul Catholic will square off against Passaic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.67 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Immaculate Heart Academy, they will face off against Passaic County Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
