Basketball Game Preview: South Rowan Raiders vs. West Rowan Falcons

South Rowan hasn't had much luck against West Rowan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Rowan Raiders will head out to challenge the West Rowan Falcons at 7:30 p.m.

South Rowan is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lake Norman Charter on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Rowan was dealt a 78-27 defeat at the hands of Lake Norman Charter. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.

Meanwhile, West Rowan didn't have too much trouble with East Rowan last Wednesday as they won 59-45.

South Rowan better keep an eye on Evan Kennedy. He was instrumental in West Rowan's win, going 8 for 19 on his way to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Kennedy has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Josiah Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards.

West Rowan's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for South Rowan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-14.

South Rowan lost to West Rowan on the road by a decisive 67-52 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can South Rowan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
