Basketball Recap: Luke Shrader's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maranatha Christian Academy over Horton

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maranatha Christian Academy can now relate to. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horton Chargers on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Shrader, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Shrader has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Dean, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Horton, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Maranatha Christian Academy nor Horton have any future games scheduled.
