Basketball Game Preview: Lake George Lakers vs. Saranac Lake Red Storm

Having just played yesterday, the Lake George Lakers will jump right back in to play the Saranac Lake Red Storm at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lake George is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Moriah on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake George lost 55-33 to Moriah. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Vikings are ranked 88th).

Despite the loss, Lake George saw an underclassman step up: freshman Madyson Brennan posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The match was Brennan's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Saranac Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 43-24 to Hoosic Valley.

Lake George has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Saranac Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
