Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Grove Wildcats vs. Tyler Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Walnut Grove comes in on six and Tyler on three.

Walnut Grove is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Greenville: they outscored them in every quarter. Walnut Grove was the clear victors by a 74-48 margin over Greenville on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-22.

Walnut Grove found their leader in freshman Monta Ellis, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Parker Evanson, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Tyler beat Texas 67-60 on Friday.

Walnut Grove's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Tyler, their win bumped their record up to 19-12.
