Volleyball Recap: Illini West Starts Season with Win at Home

Illini West took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Barry Western Wildcats by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Illini West took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15.

Barry Western's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Illini West will head out to challenge Brown County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barry Western, they will be playing at home against Beardstown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
