Softball Recap: Northview Academy Comes Up Short

Northview Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cosby Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 7-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Abigail Doty was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Emma Sawyer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Northview Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Cosby, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Coming up, Northview Academy will host Gatlinburg-Pittman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cosby, they will challenge Sevier County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Smoky Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
