Baseball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Goddard on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. The Railroaders just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Goddard, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Newton by a score of 11-4 later that day.
