Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Palmer

If Canon City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Palmer, they should've done a better job of containing Emmanuel Gonzalez. The Palmer Terrors took down the Canon City Tigers 55-41 on Wednesday thanks in part to Gonzalez, who went 9 for 17 en route to 26 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eric Chavez, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Mullin-Betts, who went 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and three steals.

The win (which was Palmer's third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. As for Canon City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Palmer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-34 victory against Widefield on the 31st. As for Canon City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-50 win against Coronado on the 31st.
