Basketball Recap: Emma Pierson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Belvidere over Harlem

Belvidere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Harlem Huskies. The Bucs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 59-51.

Belvidere lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emma Pierson, who posted 21 points and four steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Labeau, who went 9-for-17 en route to 20 points and three steals.

Belvidere's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Harlem, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-20.

Belvidere has already played their next matchup, a 67-48 loss against Rockford Auburn on the 11th. As for Harlem, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-60 defeat against Freeport on the 11th.
