Basketball Recap: Potomac School Piles Up the Points Against St. Andrew's Episcopal

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Potomac School had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed past the St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions to the tune of 71-38. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Potomac School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Sewall, who went 6-for-8 en route to 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Sewall a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Another player making a difference was Catherine Letendre, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Potomac School was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Andrew's Episcopal only eight assists.

Despite the loss, St. Andrew's Episcopal had strong showings from Payton Grant, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 13 points, and Anna Beth Tsai-Turton, who posted ten points.

Potomac School's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28 points. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Potomac School nor St. Andrew's Episcopal have any future games scheduled.
