Independence won the last time they faced Princeton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Independence got a massive performance out of Kassidy Bradbury, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Bradbury is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Savanah Stanley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Independence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton didn't got any hits.
The win made it two in a row for Independence and bumps their season record up to 14-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Princeton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Independence will challenge Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Princeton, they will take on Van at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
