Basketball Recap: Tonopah Valley Takes a Loss

Tonopah Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss. They were dealt a 105-11 defeat at the hands of the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks. The Phoenix were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 68-4.

Natalie Bolton was Tonopah Valley's leading scorer, having posted five points. Talia Fox held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Yuma Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amanda Wiley, who went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc to rack up 31 points along with seven boards and six assists. Wiley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Sadie Estes was another key player, going 13-for-16 on her way to 27 points and five steals.

Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Yuma Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Tonopah Valley has already played their next contest, a 34-16 defeat against Odyssey Institute on the 6th. As for Yuma Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-12 victory against Chino Valley on the 6th.
