Soccer Game Preview: Wheeling vs. Hoffman Estates

Wheeling is 0-10 against Hoffman Estates since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Wheeling has given up an average of 4.4 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wheeling's offense. They came up short against Rolling Meadows on Wednesday, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Wheeling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Rolling Meadows are ranked 142nd).

Meanwhile, Hoffman Estates also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 4-0 to Buffalo Grove on Saturday.

Hoffman Estates' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Wheeling, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Wheeling suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Hoffman Estates in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
