Recap: Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds vs. Monsignor Farrell Lions
The Kellenberg Memorial Firebirds''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 28-7 loss to Monsignor Farrell might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Kellenberg Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Monsignor Farrell is ranked fifth).
Jimmy Ernst threw for 133 yards and a touchdown. Christian Dacosta was his top target, picking up 92 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monsignor Farrell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Andrade, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Andrade was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. Nafis Muhammad and his 101 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Monsignor Farrell's victory.
Kellenberg Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Monsignor Farrell, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Kellenberg Memorial will head out on the road to face off against Iona Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 4th. As for Monsignor Farrell, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Holy Trinity at 6:00 p.m. Holy Trinity is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
