Basketball Recap: Elijah Mcclain Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

Millers Creek Christian won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent and things went their way on Monday too. The Millers Creek Christian Lions took down Varsity Opponent 45-28. The Lions pushed the score to 41-18 by the end of the third, a deficit Varsity Opponent cut but never quite recovered from.

Millers Creek Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah McClain, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points and three steals. McClain is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Houpe, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

The win made it two in a row for Millers Creek Christian and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Millers Creek Christian will face off against Statesville Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next contest (against Oakstone Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
