Basketball Game Preview: St. Anthony's Friars vs. St. John's Prep Red Storm

The St. Anthony's Friars just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the St. John's Prep Red Storm at 1:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Anthony's comes in on five and St. John's Prep on six.

St. Anthony's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They managed a 58-54 win over Canisius. That's two games straight that the Friars have won by exactly four points.

St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Taylor Jr. led the charge by shooting 59% from the field to rack up 23 points. Taylor Jr. continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Mannix, who posted ten points.

St. John's Prep's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for St. Anthony's, their win bumped their record up to 24-3.

St. Anthony's didn't have too much breathing room in their match against St. John's Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory.
