Softball Recap: Hillside Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hillside's offense. They came up short against the Northern Durham Knights on Thursday, falling 10-0. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Hillside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maliya Blandford, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Blandford has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Bailey Foster also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Hillside and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Northern Durham, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

Hillside and Northern Durham will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time Hillside sees the field they'll take on East Chapel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Northern Durham, their break will end when they face Chapel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
