Baseball Recap: North Canyon Triumphs

North Canyon was handed a 15-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past the Buckeye Hawks 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rattlers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

North Canyon got a great performance from Luis Alvarez as he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Alvarez has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Anthony Miranda was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Johnny Huerta also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

North Canyon's record now sits at 8-12. As for Buckeye, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Canyon beat Buckeye by a score of 8-6 on Thursday.
