Basketball Recap: Steeleville's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

After losing to Mt. Carmel the last time they met, Steeleville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Steeleville Warriors took down the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces 59-40 on Monday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Golden Aces are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Steeleville and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Mt. Carmel, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
