Basketball Game Preview: Alta Hawks vs. Brighton Bengals

The Alta Hawks will square off against the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Alta, who comes in off a win.

Alta is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Olympus, who was ranked sixth at the time (Alta was ranked 14th). Alta came out on top in a nail-biter against Olympus on Friday, sneaking past 61-58.

Meanwhile, Brighton suffered their closest defeat since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Olympus by a score of 53-50.

Alta will need to focus on slowing down Bradley Easton, one of several Brighton players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Easton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Mawhinney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Alta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
