Baseball Game Preview: Baird Bears vs. Hamlin Pipers

The Baird Bears will challenge the Hamlin Pipers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Baird has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Hamlin will come in with seven straight wins.

On Friday, Baird came up short against Aspermont and fell 6-2.

Baird saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conor Carlisle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Brayden Chappell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Hamlin got themselves on the board against Jayton on Friday, but Jayton never followed suit. They blew past the Jaybirds 12-0. The Pipers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Hamlin's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Baird, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Baird suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Hamlin in their previous matchup last Saturday. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
