Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Mules vs. Frankfort Redbirds

The Fairfield Mules will challenge the Frankfort Redbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Saturday, Fairfield strolled past Mt. Vernon with points to spare, taking the game 41-23.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Frankfort was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 36-17 to Pinckneyville. The Redbirds haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for Frankfort, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Fairfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Frankfort in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory.
