Basketball Recap: Snow Canyon Beats Crimson Cliffs for Their 19th Straight Win

Snow Canyon had won 18 straight games and Olivia Hamlin did her part to make it 19 on Thursday. The Snow Canyon Warriors simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs 76-38 thanks in part to Hamlin, who went 20 of 27 on her way to 43 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Her evening made it 45 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Makasini Fonua also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in points (eight).

Despite the loss, Crimson Cliffs still got an impressive performance from Josie Myers, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points and seven boards. Coco Korella was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Crimson Cliffs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snow Canyon will challenge Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crimson Cliffs, they will square off against Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
