Basketball Recap: Colon Magi vs. Bellevue Broncos
The Colon Magi pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellevue. Even though they lost, Colon's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Magi players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nic Mock, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Mock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Dalton Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Colon now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Bellevue, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
Colon will stay at home for another game and welcome the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Bellevue is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hillsdale Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
