Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Catherine King and Audrey Skinner Lead Annapolis to Victory

There's no place like home for Annapolis, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 40-31 victory over the Severna Park Falcons on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Falcons are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Annapolis to victory were Audrey Skinner and Catherine King. Skinner posted 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while King dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. King has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Lyman, who had four points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Annapolis' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Severna Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Annapolis Panthers challenge the Arundel Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Severna Park, they will head out to square off against Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
