Softball Recap: Goldwater Comes Up Short

Goldwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-2 to the Thunderbird Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 last Monday.

Goldwater saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Pederson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Goldwater's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Thunderbird, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldwater will challenge Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Thunderbird, they will square off against Marcos de Niza at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Padres will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
