Basketball Recap: Kings Way Christian School Comes Up Short

Kings Way Christian School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Sugar Hill Christian Academy Stallions and fell 65-37. The Crusaders were down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Kings Way Christian School lost, don't look at Jed Yarnall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Philistin, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Kings Way Christian School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Tyler Veugeler was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds for Sugar Hill Christian Academy. Veugeler has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Gabriel Espin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Kings Way Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-11.

Kings Way Christian School will head out to square off against Victory Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sugar Hill Christian Academy, they will challenge Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
