Gretna and Bellevue West are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Dragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Thunderbirds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Bellevue West took on Omaha Central on Friday. The Thunderbirds fell 7-2 to the Eagles. Thunderbirds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Friday.

Drew Grego was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Gretna's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bellevue West, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Gretna came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellevue West in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
