Baseball Recap: University Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Flintridge Prep Wolves on Saturday by a score of 4-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The result came thanks to Vincent Maxim's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because University is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Wu, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

University's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Flintridge Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will face off against Laguna Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.6, the Hawks 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Flintridge Prep, they will challenge Salesian at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
