Basketball Recap: Grayden Summers Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lititz Christian

After losing to Lititz Christian the last time they met, New Covenant Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The New Covenant Christian Flames narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lititz Christian Eagles 40-38. The 40-point effort marked the Flames 's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

New Covenant Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Grayden Summers out in front who posted 13 points and three steals. That's the most points Summers has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Alexander Hart, who put up 13 points and six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Lititz Christian lost on Tuesday, don't look at Jack Kriebel. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Kriebel's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caeden Harmon, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

New Covenant Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lititz Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

New Covenant Christian is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on Covenant Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lititz Christian, they will welcome Mount Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mount Calvary Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
